In this course, you will learn how to create attractive outdoors and curb appeal in the front yard utilizing simple but effective design principles and  smart plant selections. You will also learn simple strategies for proper placement of landscape features that  help keep the design consistent and yet aesthetically pleasing and functional for the home owner. 

Home Landscape design 101

 Have you brought a new home and need to landscape it ? This session illustrates the use of the principles and elements of design to transform your garden into a space of harmony, unity and serenity. In this course, you will learn about landscape design, how to incorporate form, color and texture to enhance your home’s appeal and how to avoid common landscape mistakes,  saving yourself time and money.  Also included is the important considerations in any design, the steps to take in creating a base plan and how to incorporate the most important wishes and desires of the home gardener within the design. Lastly, you will learn how to take a survey of the landscape and the importance of proper plant selection

Landscaping Small Spaces

This course is for anyone with spatially challenged outdoor spaces such as: small urban gardens, condominiums, decks, balconies, courtyards, apartment patios and terraces. Strategies for creativity in designing and developing small spaces that feels and appear larger will be discussed.  Designing a functional, aesthetically pleasing  small outdoor space creates  its own unique set of rules. In this course, you learn how to turn these design challenges into  opportunities to get creative with plants selection and the final design. Also covered is how to focus on details while making the most of the little space available. The basic principles of design still apply for small spaces as with larger spaces.  The course also focuses on proper plant selections and landscape features that that can help keep the design consistent and yet aesthetically pleasing.   

Home Landscape Makeover

Are you interested in up-dating an existing yard? A landscape makeover aims at creating aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor landscape spaces that relate to the family lifestyle.  This course walks you through the process of making-over areas around the home landscape  so that they can be utilized as extra outdoor living spaces for: relaxing/sitting, cooking, dinning, entertaining, gardening or quiet private areas for reading a book or just meditating. In this session you will learn the process for creating a landscape that has year round interest with flowering trees and shrubs. Also covered is how to identify landscape views and features that you can keep or screen off. You will learn how you can use different landscape features such as screens, archways, trellises, arbors and hedges to create separate outdoor rooms or to maximize on the views.
